Volunteer: CFE Small Grants Observation Sign UP
Visiting classrooms is an integral part of our Small Grants program and provides volunteers with a terrific opportunity to see some of the city’s most engaging elementary teachers in action! We really need your help and hope you will consider making a small time commitment by visiting one or more classrooms.
Teachers who have not yet been observed have signed up to have someone visit during the school day, between Tues-Thurs, the weeks of May 13th or May 20th. Observations typically last from 15 to 30 minutes. Though it is preferable that Small Grant projects be in progress during these visits, we understand that some projects may have already wrapped up. We encourage volunteers to still visit classrooms and talk to our grant-winning teachers and their students for a few minutes.
Visits are a key way that CFE is able to determine the impact of our program. They are also a fabulous way for volunteers to become personally connected with some of Chicago Public School’s most innovative teachers. Consider bringing a friend and introducing them to the great things that are happening in Chicago’s classrooms!
